Methodology

Sources, dates, and editorial fields.

Volatile fields include a source and check date. Editorial conclusions are labeled separately.

Current coverage

The catalog currently contains 20 tool profiles supported by62 primary-source records. The latest profile check is datedAug 31, 2026.

Catalog size is not a quality score. Coverage expands only when the evidence model can support the new profile without replacing missing facts with assumptions.

Source order

We start with vendor documentation, pricing pages, release notes, repositories, and official marketplace listings. Independent testing informs judgment, but does not replace a primary source for a product claim.

If a vendor does not publish a detail, the field is recorded as unknown.

Each source records the exact fields it supports and its check date. A general homepage link cannot silently support a volatile pricing, privacy, or lifecycle claim.

Freshness

Pricing and model facts are reviewed every 30 days; features every 60; stable metadata every 90.

Overdue facts remain visible with a stale marker so readers can see both the last known value and its age.

Recommendations

The stack builder is a deterministic rules engine. It scores workflow fit, surface, deployment, budget, and team requirements against the same structured tool data used by profiles, then separates the result into surface, coding, orchestration, and execution layers.

Self-hosted and open-source choices are hard constraints. Unknown fields do not satisfy a requirement. Sponsorship state is not part of the scoring input and cannot change a result.

Pricing

The pricing table preserves each vendor’s published billing basis instead of forcing incompatible seats, credits, tokens, tasks, and compute into a false monthly equivalent.

Starting price is a discovery signal, not a total-cost claim. Profile notes expose known usage and surrounding-stack caveats beside the primary pricing source.

Lifecycle

Active, beta, maintenance, deprecated, and discontinued states appear as text and shape, not color alone. Material transitions receive a dated update entry and a successor link when current primary evidence supports one.

Editorial view

“Best for,” “avoid if,” strengths, and limitations are editorial conclusions. They are written as practical guidance, not vendor copy, and never presented as sourced facts.
